Of the 309 rape cases reported in Kedah last year, 187 involving girls as young as 12 to 16 were said to be willing sex partners.
Kedah police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Syed Ismail Syed Azizan said police has classified the cases, which mostly occured in the rural areas, as statutory rape as the girls were underage.
Shockingly interesting, most cases involved their boyfriends!
The police chief is calling on all parents to watch over their kids closer and to help them curb this serious problem so as to prevent them from becoming victims.
