New Year 2009

The dawning of another new year...

What should you be hoping?

What should be our resolve?

How is the world going to be?

How is life gonna be?

Yeah... New Year’s coming in with more hopes and resolutions. Whether or not it comes true, will be left in curiosity, leaving everything to our ownself to decide and not fate to decide instead!

Happy New Year to all!!

....And...

All the best to all my friends out there and especially to you dear love.. Ganbatte Kudasai Chiaki San.. Love ya..:-D

Panadol dilemma...??

For years it has been now that if there is any headache or fever or pain, then a self prescribed dose of fair Panadol (Paracetamol) would very much get rid of everything.

But think again! Panadol will reside in our body for AT LEAST 5(five) freaking years!!! This would burden our liver and kidneys extensively with more Panadol consumption, even only if taken for medicinal purposes.
I bet you don't want to go through dialysis at the prime of your life, do you..???

Doctors' know this fact a long time ago and they wouldn't count too much on Panadol in times of need. Rather they seek alternatives, either from Chinese herbs or others that would do them good. So why do they still prescribe such medication to their patients? Perhaps the effects of the amount of Panadol consumption in an average person that is purely for medicational purposes is negligible throughout their life though we cannot deny the probabilities of the so called "Old Man's Sickness" which surfaces slowly as we age, as the amount of Panadol accumulates as we age, has something to do with Panadol itself!

So the doctors explain, "Headaches is caused by the ionic or eletronic imbalance in our brain. To make you feel better, you can try this alternative...

1 or 2 cans of isotonic drink ( eg.100PLUS), and mix it with drinking water according to a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 (simply, it means one cup 100plus, one cup water or 2 cups water)."

"Another method is to....
...submerge your feet in a basin of warm water so that it bring the blood pressure down from your throbbing head."

I've heard of girls with menstrual pain and it seems that pain isn't the only think Panadol is capable of.
Some got their flow fluctuating and delayed or altered during menstruating period! Now that's really gonna leave a scar on the precious uterus in the long run.

So please cherish your life! Appreciate it while you have it.

Think twice the next time you decide to pop in a couple of "white candies" into that precious body of yours!!!

Tang Yuan

I'm back working at Aloha for the past few days up until this coming Wednesday(24th Dec). Was called back to help ease out the busy life in Aloha's busy kitchen as usual... Honestly, I don't feel like it's working also this time.. more like playing and just enjoying the time with old friends.. I really do feel glad coming back here for a little while..... Love this job and its ambience and surrounding and aquaintances and last but not least~ All of Aloha's staffs, including Mr Goh, the Boss!!
So.............
Today's the winter solstice festival and Casandra bought us the Tang Yuan mixture for us to make and shared it all among Aloha's staffs. Thanks Casandra!!! hehe.. My friend thought that Aloha is so good, having such a wonderful boss and administrator, which really is nice, honestly speaking.
The funny thing is that both of the "Tang Yuan" maker ended up having clashing thoughts with the Head Baker(an expert food and Tang Yuan maker-at least I think she is) and argued for a sec there when actually making this dessert actually meant to have everyone being together and united... Lolz... typical Aloha style la.. Argue also a while only and then treat it as o joke and really forget it.. haha...

~Siao Sze~ the Senior Cashier cookin' for all of us wo... A rare site indeed!!

My fair share of Tang Yuan.. Some with red bean filling too.. Nice!!
Hey!! That big one's yours Casandra!!! Haha..

6th National Undergraduates' Convention 2008

What would come to your mind if someone were to invite you to join a certain camp? First thing you'll be asking is the fees and of course, how many days? Would it be fun? What is it all about? Then somewhere at the back of your mind, you'll judge the book by it's cover and assume that despite all that you heard from those inviting you to join, it'll be a boring one, with childish games and motivational stuffs all day long that could really make you feel that it all ain't worth your effort and money and time being at that camp.
Well!!You'll really need to think twice .. or thrice.. or more... after joining this 6th National Undergraduates' Convention (NUC).
Hell lot of new friends is one thing, the experience and memories that you could have is another! Yeah, so at first I did too some judging from the surface and it has proved me wrong! It was extremely, unforgettably, absurdly fun, fun, fun!!!
Writing everything out wouldn't be much fun and interesting as the photos itself could do all the talking and explaining.. so.. here you go!!! Brace yourselves as our tiring journey but an extremely fun one begins!!!!!

First Day....

Started everything with a lil blurr....

We got to Santubong and registered ourselves. Organized neatly..

We were given this book with a file also and pieces of papers in it and feedback forms..Inside this book is the list of participants and our scheduled arranged for us.

Here we are in this chilly hall.. Very cold la inside..~~grrrr~~

And there's of course some opening and welcoming speech by one of the committee member, Doing all those out of formality only la..

Then we had ice-breaking where we had to randomly pick one name card scattered on the floor and find the owner of the name card pertaining his or her name on it. We had our groups sorted out too from this activity.(My name card on the right)

Then we were taught how to sing and dance and do sign language of the song all at one time.. Problem for me 'cos the songs all in mandarin and I was like,"Hmmm, nice tune.. nice song" while others were like,"Hey, meaningful lyrics." But, who cares.. my hand still can move what...hehe

Then we had this debate going on between groups. We were given random topics of our choice and based on the topic, one party would be in positive and another, negative. So we fought with our tongues... which posed another problem for me for the questions were all in amndarin and I was like..ha??!? Die lo.. So I was just passive all the way...haiz.. Don understand some of their arguments too.. Lolz...

Motivational talk!!!
Damn boring for most of us.. Walao ei.. but some part is really full of wisdom, I must admit.

We had our Master Ceremony too.. Some guy, a DJ at Red FM. first time heard of Red FM though.. Mandarin station gua.. that's why alien to me..lolz..

We really enjoyed our dinner much much more than our lunch! Alot more choices and tastier food for all!! haha..

*From left ~ Fung Chien~me~Susanna Sue~Geraldine~Jocelyn(new friend)~Steven~Jong Chuan~San San

And then we have the Guests of Honor for the Opening Ceremony. Our very own Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri George Tan at the Opening Ceremony and we were understood also that he was the one who subsidised this three days convention. We only had to pay RM 50 instead of RM300. Very worth our while joining. I know it worth my while joining them...haha
We sang.. or you can say sign-language it out for the honorable guests.

After going through the formalities, we had another activity where each group was given a topic before hand and a representative from each group were to go up the stage and blablabla the fruits of our discussion out in 3 or 5 min... can't really remember..hehe..

That marks the end of our first day at Santubong Resort. We were all in shock when Mr Lai told us that it will be the first and last night here at Santubong!
"Tomorrow, we'll head to Permai BY FOOT!!! during our treasure hunt."
We was like...ok..pretty excited of the treasure hunt but..walking to Permai!??!
Cold water splashing right onto us...haiz.. But little that we know it was all fun fun fun the very next day!!!
As usual..more photo taking at the last day at Santubong although practically, it was just our first day there... LOlz

My group members... with me first new friend there, Min Yuan..

On the left- Photo of all the committee members

Second Day....
(Left-committee member giving morning call @ 5.30am!!)
(Right-doing some morning exercise. Stretching and ponco-ponco)

Then we had the worst breakfast-3 pieces of bread and a packet of 3-in-1 instant Milo. We change and bath and pack and gathered at the hall and had a motivational talk which I feel is really quite meaningful. Talked about having to see others' positive points rather than their negative side as most of our human tendensies would head to. Then there is our mindset and our appearance, inside-out.

Finally!!! Treasure hunt started!! The activity we really looked forward too!! Haha..
(Left~one of our task to complete. Two of my group members posing!hehe...)
(Middle~we counted the trees along the road into Santubong resort. Forgot how many trees already though, but got about 150 trees!!Wow!!)
(Right~half way on the way to Permai by foot! Taking a break.Aduh..next clue at where?!? So far..hot lei..hehe..)
While we were all treasure hunting, the committee members all "exercised" transferring our luggages to the hall at Permai. Long way inside oh.. Thanks guys!!

At last arrived at pit stop!Stil need to find our lunch coupon somewhere at the carpark lei. Yam Kung ah!!! Inhumane!! haha..Lolz.. Nothing much. Just chicken rice...hmmm..ok la..tired and hungry and thirsty. Anything goes..

Solving our last tasks! sorting out pieces of jig-saw puzzle. Didn't tell people got time limit. At the last two minute baru tell people. Hi yo..part of the game la though.haha..fun la though.

Everybody catching their breathe!! Memang tired!!! Whooshh...

Two of the Committee members doing some sound system thingy..

Then more photo takings.. Our group painted the first two characters
(yellow & red from left to right)
My fellow groupmates... Their the best anyone could ask for!!

And so after dinner, we went Solo-Sitting!!! All by yourself for about an hour in the middle of some unknown jungle without torchlight, phone, nothing!!
Scary at first but didn't see or experience any unwanted sightings or feelings, so it was cool actually. nothing much to scare of except of your own thoughts fooling around with you.

Then it was the greatest surprise ever!! Birthday celebration for December born friends and that day was her birthday!! Boy, was she surprised and happy(although acting kinda cool)..haha... It was the greatest!! hehe..

........ And so ended a tired and elated group of participants.... Thanks NUC..

Third and final day....

Breakfast wasn't that good with nasi lemak, hard-boiled eggs and coffee pairing with tea for our choice. As you can see, just ate like a few mouth full and the rest was like.. torture to the palate!! Well, at least for me..

Then we had fun games I should say.. going over a series of obstacle courses with their own rules and regulations with a new companion, the 'RAJA' which is a red wooden kayu..
We terlalu high la i guess after the game. Daring our instructor to climb up 'RAJA' and sit there with us four guys carrying it about five feet of the ground by himself. Haha.. And he did it with style and ease.. Haiz.. no fun de lei Mr.instructor.. So li hai de...hehe
